SAXS Lab - 148C MRL
The CMM Small-Angle X-ray Scattering facility is based on a Rigaku 18kW rotating anode generator coupled to a Small Angle Diffractometer optimized for weakly-scattering soft condensed matter samples. This specialized instrument employs Osmic high-flux confocal multilayer optics, evacuated flight-paths for background suppression, and a Bruker HiStar 2D wire detector for efficient data collection. A computer controlled xyz translation stage allows for automatic data collection. The SAXS beamline is modular in design and will accommodate a range of flight path lengths for different Q-ranges (up to ~70 nm).
Techincal Considerations:
-
Operating Wavelength: 1.54 nm
-
Pixel Size: 105um x 105um
-
Flight path lengths: 0.40m, 0.65m, 0.93m, 1.20m (all use ~0.8mm x 0.8mm beam at sample position), 1.70m (0.5mm x 0.5mm beam at sample position)
